Mind Blowing
It feels so great to have access to a channel strip that is so amazing, with out having to pay thousands of dollars for it. Not sure how the hardware version sounded, but this is on point.

Es todo lo que esperaba. Por supuesto trabaja de manera diferente a los compresores actuales donde se puede modificar cada parámetro y los que no conocimos estos aparatos en su versión hardware debemos tomarnos un tiempo para acostumbrarnos, pero vale el esfuerzo. Una vez más felicitaciones.

Teletronix LA-2A
Pretty happy with the Teletronix LA 2 Blue Face. I record guitars using the POD and throw one over the Insert. I've been dialing in the JJ-Blues Guitar preset and adjust the gain and it is instantly present.

API Channel wonderfully musical
I own APIs have 550s 560s 512s. This plugin though to my ears not an exact model works even better than a he hardware on some sources.

They nailed it. Awesome Analog goodness!!! This is how plugins should sound. Silky smooth filters. Brings out the fundamentals very nicely.

A bit to Subtle for me
I use the studer on my bus'es. It's very subtle, and I think it only ads a little colour to my mixes. But overall, my mixes sounds better than before. More a fan of the Ampex ATR.

Glue me!
I just love this plugin. While the Studer A800 is more neutral, the ATR-102 brings all sorts of colours to my mixes. Especially when used on master bus. Only problem I have is rewinding the tape ;-)

Glad I purchased this
Like the Ampex, it's best when used in the proper context, rather than a carte blanche application. Moderately applied, I like what it does for tracks that can benefit from a bit of warmth, although I don't use it as much as I imagined I would. Still, it's a great sounding plugin and a useful addition to ones sonic palette.

Simlpy the best Unison Preamp!!!
What the hell???? I can not believe my ears...i was fighting with all the other preamp plugs to get a clear and super crispy sound in vocals but in high input levels my sound was clipped and oversaturated! And here came the API VISION... My recording HEAVEN..!!!! Unbelievable clarity and presence..! My vocals came upfront and here I was! But I didn't stop there... My bass got power and extra presence, which made the mix extra punchy and powerful..!!!! Can't wait to use it in other sources, too!!!! Surely my main preamp from now on..!!!! GOD BLESS YOU, UA!!!!

Powerful tool
Used carefully, it's like having an old friend helping you. Although I used different machines, back in the day, this plugin delivers the goods. Very familiar results. It's not for everything (what is?), but is a great tool when used in the proper context.

Can't believe the difference this makes on my tracks. the LA-2 is simply amazing. I've used it on several different voices, instruments, genres -- blues to bluegrass -- and it's buutah! The silver and grey are great too. Haven't had a chance to use them as much yet, but the silver was killer on some acoustic guitar stuff I tracked. My favorite plugin so far.

This enhances the vocals like no other
The LA-2A collection is pure magic. Simply adjust the 'Peak Reduction' and the 'Makeup gain' and you will obtain the best sound as posible in your vocal chain. This is the ultimate effect for the main role actor in your mix. It brings a brilliant, present sound, but natural, silky and well-defined. When you try it on main solo (vocal or instrument) you won't ever ask for more.
The perfect chain for vocal: Pultec--_Cambridge EQ --_LA-2A--_EMT 140 plate. These four effects rise the vocals to AAA result without any shadow of doubt. And if you add the Studer A800 at the beginning, the magic is done even more.

A MUST
This piece of gear must be present in every channel/bus/mix.
The simple act of inserting a pultec with flat settings enhances the sound whatever it be. Nevertheless, if you tweak any parameter, the result is still musical and warm for every sound. I have used it on almost all instruments (vocals, pianos, guitars, drum elements, synths...) and the result is always AAA. Highly recommended.
