Although you may not believe.
Amazingly, Teletronix LA, has left me surprised at the quality, power, clarity, warmth and many others that if I mention this because not end my review, I did not know that a plugin could be as accurate compared to a real piece, imagine all the big bucks you can save with these emulators.
It is clear that only plug-ins Universal Audio admit they are the best and Realistic, have over 20 years experience in the industry as a producer and I have dealt with almost all plugins from different companies that may exist, and only Universal Audio me has given the results with ease, speed and great analog sound all go looking today to combat the digital herror.

Amazing!
Great sounding and versatile effects plugin. Love the variety of presets and uses. Its amazing what you can do with just the feedback and echo rate.. The only thing that would make it better is if I was able to control the settings from my MIDI keyboard...

Another great colour for your tonal palette....
I own and love the other 2 UAD tape sims (Ampex and Studer), so I didn't give this one much of a look when it came out. That was a mistake! Curiosity got the best of me and eventually I tried it out...and was so impressed I had to pick it up. This is a different thing entirely to the Studer and Ampex (and Slate VTM, for that matter) - and as a general purpose tape sim that takes very little processing power (and is CHEAP) it really can't be beat! I have certain uses for the others where they always shine, but I end up with more instances of this in mix sessions than the others now. If you own any of the others and have been thinking owning this would be redundant, you should definitely hit the demo button and let this one speak for itself.

My Favorite tape plug-in
I own the Studer and Ampex but this is my favorite. Partly because it sounds so good, and partly because it's so easy to use. Love it!

Great Low-Cost Tape Emulation
For the money, it's unbeatable----the UAD Studer plugin has more adjustable options, but the BASIC SOUND of the Oxide plugin is right up there with the Studer in my opinion. It adds the depth and dimension I really miss from the analog tape machine days. Great on drums [kick phenomenally].........I predict I will be using it on more and more instruments as I experiment further.....Highly recommend.

some core-power left? try it!
Warm harmonics and glue. That's what I use it for most times.
Ever tried as a special FX for distortion? You shoud!
It's a little too expensive, that's why it's only 4 stars. As a bundle/special offer/etc great!

Sometimes less is more
This channelstrip brings the smack I like. Even if you crank up the compression, it's still nice an silky.
Even using "creative gain" (in other words: distortion) is nice, not harsh.
But what I like the best: fixed EQ switches/pots - go back and work with what you have, not use every single knob that's been found on the FX! Easier to use, more concentrated on the sound.
The channestrip ads some character, not to much, not to little.
I use it on most mixes (sometime SSL has the edge on API if it comes so clarity/non-character) and I won't do without it!
Absolutely a "non-regret".
