Blissfully Clean guitar sounds
It is the first plugin I brought after buying my apollo twin, it is great for clean guitar and I wrote some nice chordal parts within a few minutes, I reckon from the inspiring sounds that it creates.

Tight bottom end for electronic music
I write electronic music, in particular trance, so I was looking for a bus compressor to tighten up my low end and keep the whole mix clean & together. I've been using the Shadow Hills for the last 3 years, but it never write hit the mark, and so, in the tradition of the never ending search to improve my production, I demoed the API, Zener, elysia & the SSL G (2017 version) For me the API was the most consistent in levels, whilst adding some dirt to the low mids, the SSL was a close 2nd, however I found that it was too varied in it's gain reduction when the bottom end was absent. I also use this daily for my Post production mixes - it's so flexible with the selectable knee, the old & new styles and the thrust component.....definitely add this to your demo list. I'm very happy with this one :)

5 Star Reverb!
This isn't just the "new reverb plugin" love, it's true love. If you don't fall in love with this, you need to get your ears checked.
Seriously though...I've been hunting for that perfect plate vocal reverb for at least 5 years now and have easily spent over $1,000 for "OK" plugins that I didn't hate but did the job, but when I demo'd this, I couldn't believe what I heard. Deep, lush, beautiful reverb that just left you wanting more but not too much.
Not only does it sound amazing, there's something about its presence that just cuts through the mix and makes the vocal sit perfect without sounding washed out or overbearing.
I feel like I've discovered oil with this one. If you can't tell by now, I LOVE THIS THING!

God Send
This unison plugin by itself has been a god send especially for all the hip hop music I've been mixing and mastering. Drums are on smash and my clients are asking what I have changed and I politely say API!!!!! So, if you are a producer or engineer and don't know, you are truly missing out!!!! Thanks UA.......

LA-2
I couldn't deny myself buying this wonderful compressor. LA-2 won my heart. Now on every vocal track. It works very imperceptibly even with extreme tuning and doesn't make the vocal flat. Love it!

Great channel strip with a perfect gate for drums
I love this strip on drums. The entire signal path sounds great. The filters and eq are very smooth. However, for me, the best part is the gate. I am able to get a ton of isolation on my drum mics, while still allowing them to sound musical.

Great Work UAD!
Putting these on a track without even hitting the threshold puts you in a better place.

Couldn't be happier
Pure Plate is the kind of reverb I hoped would be released on the UAD-2 platform someday. It is extremely simple to use, and it comes with great factory presets as starting points.
I bought the PPR plugin only a couple weeks ago. So, I don't have a lot of stories to tell about it, but wo instances stand out:
(1) Mixing a Logic project where the artist had recorded his B3 organ part entirely on the left side of a stereo track. I put an instance of Pure Plate Reverb on that track, picked a factory preset, then tweaked it to taste. Perfect! It created the perfect amount of sonic ambience within the rest of the stereo field, which made that track sound asewsome.
(2) The other was when I was tracking vocals -- and then later putting it on the vocal bus during mixing. The PPR has all the vibey goodness of a great plate reverb, by exhibiting a sort of natural "ducking" that stays out of the way, and doesn't muddy-up consonants, plosives, and other transients.
So, I'm a huge fan.

No-Nonsense Tape
Probably the easiest to set and forget of the UAD tape machine plugins. Less controls but still adds the tape flavor with the important parameters to tweak.

Adds the Tape Flavor Well
Gives character to a sterile-sounding mix. Used it in a mastering situation to add a little bit of that tape saturation/natural compression. Tracking to it gives your tracks that gushy-tapey feel. Very tweakable.

Excellent on Drum Buss
Has a really nice spank to it. Makes drums pop. Does something similar to the Zener Limiter. Very versatile
