Not worth the money. Move on!!!
Brandon Drury recently blew the lid off of the truth about this little plugin. It's nothing but a resonance high pass filter. He demonstrates in his youtube video by using the voxengo span plugin. The amazing thing is that when he flips the phase, there is complete CANCELATION!!! Move on, don't buy this plugin. There is nothing amazing about it when you can duplicate the same effect on any stock eq plugin.

VOG - really useful
I use it to get a little tighter and punchier bottom end; on kick, bass guitar, and extra body in vocals. Probably one of UA's more subtle plug ins, and definitely right for acoustic music, but also pretty good for rock etc too

Good one
The interface is not so intuitive. Had to open manual to understand how it works. But after that it's all pretty easy and it sounds really good. Comparing to Waves bass resonance plugins VOG sounds much more natural with much less mud and woofiness.
I would really love a gain knob to compensate on volume raise, though...

Easily worth the purchase if....
I was on the edge about purchasing the Voice of God for a few weeks because of the price and finally decided to drop the cash on it. If you need some thick bass tones or huge bulky rumbles go for it immediately. I use it all the time for movie trailer tracks and epic stuff. It can really fill out the sound for kick drums and bass synths. I have been using it nonstop for a few weeks and I'm sure there are even more uses for it that I haven't discovered yet. If you get hired for a gig that requires a huge massive sound and tons of big moments - definitely pick this up.

It cam from heaven
I love how you can dial in to the right tone and make it stand out.
Using a lot of bass heavy material, mostly on kick and bass and with this baby they all get their special place in the mix without interfering with each-other.
Often combining it with the Moog filter which makes it a bit more evil ;) in a very good sense and very alive.
First read about the hardware unit and was very happy to see this one came to the UAD platform too. Demoed it and was sold. Thanks Universal Audio!

Plug in of the Gods!
I had a feeling that this "less glamorous" plug in would knock my socks off. I was right! If you're like me and sometimes struggle with getting the right blend of bottom end in your mixes, this is your ticket. Thank you Little Labs, thank you UA for this gem. This plug in kicks @$$!

really nice
I use the VOG for my basslines to cut the deep frequencies and to give more depth to the main range. This piece gives his own charakter, it is not just an one-band-EQ some guys noted earlier. I like very much, what this thing is doing. Check it out, maybe you won't like it, but maybe, you will !

quick fix tool
Im a hobbyist that is starting to do some complete production work for some local (Tampa) songwriters. Like many have said, the bottom end can be a little tricky and time consuming. My UA Pultec EQ is always my go to, but because of the way the VOG works; narrow Q on select center frequencies, its easy for me to highlight what I tried to do with the Pultec.
I give this device a 5 because I researched it and was fully aware of what it was and what it wasn't. Just as Melodyn Editor is my secret weapon for tuning everything and fixing singers who can't sing (me); this is the magic bullet for all low end stuff!!
many thanks UA, and Jeffery Green from Sweetwater for getting me into the Satellite Quad!

If Thor owned a Swiss Army Knife...
...this would be it! I can't even begin to describe how intuitive and fun it was to use this plugin. Technically speaking it does everything it boasts and more. I was able to find the head voice of a male actor in a webseries I'm working on as the re-recording mixer and I was so upset that I didn't find out about this awesome tool before the pilot episode was released. Don't be fooled by the seemingly simple look of this tool as simplicity sometimes can make for a better understanding of what you're trying to achieve sonically. You need this plug in, if you do anything that involves vocals.

Love the VOG
The controls aren't exactly intuitive, but they are simple enough to learn. I love this on kick, even better than if a separate sub-kick track is recorded since the effect frequency can be controlled. Like most seasonings, it can be overdone, but a pinch of just the right amount gives a tasty contemporary bottom end to what would otherwise be a wimpy kick.

VOG is the right name!
I use it for every mix I do it brings out the best in kicks and gives my guitar balls like it's never had before. I love it you can't ask for anymore then what it gives you . Simply put UAD has done it again !

Very useful for saving or "oomphing up" mixes
One of my most used plugs, this is certainly very useful.
I initially found the way to adjust the settings on this is kind of unintuitive, as the whole turning the wheel-kinda-experience is quite fiddly. It needs a little getting used to, as does using the buttons to determine the center-frequency.
Other than that, this is an enormously helpful plugin, as you can easily repair, boost or sharpen problematic or "not-totally-there-yet" bass-regions of all types of Instruments. I also applied this succesfully on the 2-bus. Doesn't always work there, but when it does it makes things right. It can sometimes be too narrow-banded on basses playing wider range of notes. Using specific instances of this with different center freqs helped solving this

the perfect low end tool!
this is the ultimate tool for fat kick and bass... nothing like it!!!

Found god !
Fantastic, really helps to pull bass and or kick drum into the mix, great at adding weight to snares and guitars also very nice on certain vocals, if you don't go too mad. One of those useful little tools like the spl transient designer that does a lot more than you think if bypassed you realise exactly how much they were doing, can really tidy up a mix. Good stuff !

Speaker insurance included?
I always overlooked this little beast in the shop, until now... well this will break my beloved monitor speakers and headphones for sure...

Amazing!
I use this plugin for both multitrack mixing and in stereo playback on my Mac. It is an amazing way to add bass weight to a kick, or a stereo mix. I do not know what it does that is different to a simple EQ, but it works a treat!
