Gorgeous sounding verb
This is a gorgeous sounding 80’s reverb whose character can work just as well with anything after the 80’s. It’s so beautiful and easy to use that is can give anything a musical sheen that’s pretty much record ready. It’s not super versatile like say the Valhalla verbs, but what it does, it does in a top notch way. I have most of the Valhalla’s verbs, Sound Toys Super Plate, Pure Plate, the AMS verb, Echoboy, Lexicon, a custom spring reverb unit (hardware, like the ones Fender made in the 60’s) and a bunch of others. The EMT 250 is what I first reach for when what I need is a pretty reverb with sheen and character that sits nicely in the mix. I love Valhalla’s verbs but the UAD version sounds superior to Valhalla’s rendition of the robust true EMT sound that UAD nailed imo. If you want to hear an EMT in action as the only verb used on an album, check out Cyndi Pauper’s debut album (with most of her hits), She’s So Unusual. A song like “She Bops” uses a lot of it where you can hear the tail more pronounced, whereas “Time after Time” uses it (the hardware) in a less pronounced but magical way.

Unique sound and design I don't want to miss
I never had the chance to put hands on the real thing, and I thought I had enough Reverb PlugIns - BUT the EMT 250 is killer! It gives me sounds I always was looking for. It is one of those Plugins that never sound bad and you can use on any instrument. It is rich and wide and natural. Recommended to every serious producer out there! A reverb I enjoy.
Great emulation reverb.

Realistic and versatile
High quality plugin, feels real, natural and it’s very versatile. I think the graphics need to be improved, sometimes is difficult to see the parameters. For the price should be sharper, bigger or resizable.

Prefer EMT 140
Solid product. Haven’t found best application yet but if it’s reverb I dig it nonetheless.

Classic Reverb
Great thick, lush Reverb. Classic 1970’s sound.

Sounds good. Needs a UI update.
Love the way this sounds on many sources. The interface is really hard to read and get the time just right. It's important that UAD work on updating this.

sounds great but
My only reason for withholding a star is because I would have liked a little more control over the reverb. I’m sure it’s because UA is staying true to the actual analog hardware it’s modeled after and I can respect that
I would still recommend It

A la hauteur...
EMT 250 reste encore un peu un mystère pour moi. Je n'ai peut-être pas encore assez expérimenté l'outil, mais elle me parle moins que la 140... Ceci étant la qualité UAD est toujours au rendez-vous...

A thick sound
It is the same as EMT 140 and it is also very natural.
Although not bad, I think it is more difficult to set than EMT 140.

Fantastic plate reverb
Admittedly, I have never owned a real EMT plate but I have worked with a couple large plates and this plugin definitely captures the sound. So pro: It's got the goodies where it counts the most and has LOTS of flexibility and tweaks to get it sounding just right in your mix when you need a plate sound. Cons: It uses a fair bit of DSP for what it is, and there are alot of equally good sounding reverb plugin products that do run natively that sound just as good - so i'm deducting minus one star for it's only slightly less edge of competitiveness in the very crowded field of reverb plugins. Summary: still a killer reverb plugin, and you should add it to your collection if you are a serious mixing engineer. If you are a pro, you would be dumb not to own this plug.
.
pretty nice reverb unit!
Ive been playing around with it and it sounds pretty good on guitars and drums so far . i like the lexicon better for vocals and sax though. I'm sure Ill find some more ways to use it. pretty cool unit.

still holds up!
might be getting long in the tooth, but i keep coming back to this emt 250... it fills a much needed gap in my verb palate.

Great for that nostalgic sound
I got this because it was a great part of the last records I made with Blue Oyster Cult but compared to some of the other reverbs I have like Real-verb, it's a little plain. Still I use it when I want THAT sound.
