Great sound.
And distinctive sound.
Even with the long decay-time makes a pretty luxurious effect.

EMT 140….Yep!!! Sounds great!!!
The EMT 140 Reverb was exactly what I was looking for….. a warm, rich reverb that brings a deep analog richness to your digital canvas. I've got some nice verbs….but, this one you hear immediately bringing it up in a mix. A must for any arsenal.

Awesome, as expected
I actually bought my UAD-2 card just so I can use this and it's now part of my template project. Probably the best reverb out there.

DO NOT DEMO THIS...
if you don't want to end up buying it...
truly a great and iconic reverb unit, and I honestly wasn't sure whether I'd make use of it (even after reading all the reviews on here raving about it)...
but it is now a staple in my collection and sounds marvellous...
enough character of the original units with a little extra to play with, exactly as modern plugins should be...
top work... if I could take it out for dinner I would but it the lobster...

Must-have plate!
The EMT 140 is the must-have plate of your plug-in collection. Sounds great! That's everything to say..

A Must Have for Professional Mixing Engineers
I have recently purchased the UAD-2 EMT 140 Plate Reverb plugin. All I can say is amazing. People will troll these reviews and continue to stress, "...it is not like the analog version!" Yet, in this day and age, plugins are 100 times more powerful than a decade ago. Plus, clients are quite demanding so recalling sessions is of the upmost importance. That being said this EMT reverb is nothing shy than perfect. I would recommend spending some time to really understand the nuances. Also, reading the manual would not hurt as well. Besides that this is an amazing tool. Great job UAD.

If you like plate reverb you will love this plugin.
Describing reverb is about as subjective as describing guitar tone. If you are completely obsessed with the sound of an EMT140 and you can't buy one, then UAD is probably worth your time for this plugin alone. The only alternative is iZotope Nectar's reverb which is also modeled on a EMT140 but sounds completely different - more present and metallic which I also LOVE the sound of. I actually think Nectar's reverb is better if you know you don't need a dark sounding plate, but when you want something really lush that still has that shimmery plate sound this plugin is unbeatable. I love having the 3 different options, but I mainly use B for most auxes. I wonder if they are ever going to update this one... it would be interesting to revisit.

It's killer on drum tracks, period!

Very versatile
I use this on almost everything. It has that classic dense plate-sound that never fails to impress.

Reverb sounds great!
This is typically not my first choice for reverb because I'm not a big fan of plate reverbs, but I will say that it sounds great for a plugin. This just gives me another option to get a unique effect or sound. Thanks UA for giving this one to me for free! This company is the best.

Musical, Clean & Somewhat Transparent
I am what you'd call a long-time convolution reverb addict (Alitverb, McDSP, IR-1, IR-L, just name it - I have it). And yet, the UAD EMT-140 plate reverb is by far one of the greatest plate reverb plug-in I have ever heard. I was lucky enough to actually experience the sound of a real EMT-140, and while its physical outer form makes it a bit hard to technically fool with it and explore every inch of its potential sound, the UAD EMT-140 made me feel the exact same way as the physical unit : a very clean and soulful reverberation of your source material. You won't ever regret you bought it !

Best Plate Available
This plugin has been my favorite Plate available. Does exactly what you expect it to do. Works great on all sources, not just vocals. The EQ with it comes in handy. when you need to shape the return. The controls for the most part are bullet proof as long as the mixer has a vision.

Excellent Musical Tonality!
The EMT 140 is a very musical sounding reverb and absolutely love it on everything! Drums, vocals, electric or acoustic guitars, stringed instruments, and synths...wow!

The density and character of the reverberant sound is every bit as real and detailed as if the full sized plate were interacting with the signal. The effect of the controls are intuitive with sculpting faithfully represented in the output.

EMT 140 Plate Reverb
Much like The 1176 and LA2A, or Fairchild compressor limiters, I can not imagin drum tracks with out it.

Absolute must for Vocals!
Super Easy to use and everything you would expect from a lush Plate Reverb!
A must Have in your Arsenal!

EMT 140 - Amazing
I had never used the real EMT plates, but this is so much fun to use. It makes drums come alive, whether using live tracked drums, or virtual drums. It makes just about everything sound better. Best part, it came free when I bought the Apollo Twin !
