Bliss
The purpose of this upgrade to my studio served a few major purposes:
1. Replace my protools interface because I was bypassing its analog section anyways(digi002).
2. Replace my digital ADAT converter to simplify my setup.
3. And to upgrade my preAmp for better conversion.
4. Real time UAD plug.
I can honestly say I have gain all these from this unit plus tons more. I have more flexibility and a truly clean front end that I am extremely happy with. I see the flexibility in this unit and I truly enjoy looking and the console window to configure my setup going into my DAW.
Conclusion is that I love this unit. and I can't wait to add a few more plugins to try out. The stock one are great!

Amazing installation experience
I upgraded from Windows to Mac just to use the Apollo. As a long time windows user, I am used to installing drivers and dealing with all the minor settings necessary to make things work. (Plug and pray.) Imagine my surprise when I plugged in my Apollo to the firewire port on the back of the monitor that connected to my Macbook Pro through the thunderbolt port and it just worked. First time. No tweeks. Console app came up, audio connections good and everything worked as planned.
Then I receive the thunderbolt board. 20 minutes later the board is in, cable switched to thunderbolt, and everything works. Amazing.
Plug ins are sweet. Audio quality is stunning. All is right with the world.

I really am new to the console application concept so I'm on a learning curve. But so far I love the sound of the Uad plugins even though I only have the one's that were included. They sound great. Recording or Monitoring with Plugins no latency Great. The only complaint I have is I had to return the 1st Apollo-Quad because the Preamp selector wouldn't work. It would not depress. Quality Control. Great Unit so far. Would like to be able to rename the inputs in the console to match the inputs in Pro Tools though.( Oh and Great Tech Support.) W.Greene

As far as the Apollo Quad so far so good but i had to return the 1st Apollo because the the pre amp selector knob did not work would not push in to change channel. Quality control issue.

The best sounding interface thus far.
I have been an aficionado of UA's products for some years now, I like the fact that the enthusiasm of the developers shines through in their products, I also appreciate that the software works with my Macs without issue but most of all I love the sound.
I run 3 separate set-ups, one is a Pro Tools set-up recording ensembles, mixing and mastering. This is taken care of with the UAD2 Quad Cards inside the Mac. Another is my Bosendorfer room, Earthworks PM40, Apollo UAD2 Duo and the other is purely for composition and sound design, Apollo UAD2 Quad. Compatibility could be a problem but luckily when you purchase the 'plugs' they are dowloadable on and up to four UAD devices. Unfortunately the 2 cards inside the Mac count as 2 devices.

I'm working on tracks recorded through digi192 converters, preamp neve 1073, wounder audio and Sytek.
Then I opened a new project registered a few days ago with Apollo through Apollo preamps and api512c.

I was surprised as soon i heard the sound quality.
Open, clear and I can hear where everything is placed in the sound field.
Preamp is great, excellent!!!!!!
With Apollo and the UAD plugins I must say the mixes are sounding great.

Une interface agréable mais doit encore évoluer...
Achetée récemment pour des projets live, l'apollo quad me procure satisfaction au niveau des plugins en temps réel, fonction qui couplée à la possibilité d'utiliser des versions démo, permet vraiment de faire ses choix selon ses besoins.
Ceci dit, la console doit encore évoluer pour permettre des envois AUX préfaders, un routing plus abouti qui permettrait par exemple de renvoyer l'AUX1 vers l'AUX2, bref le genre de câblage que l'on veut réaliser quand on a plusieurs systèmes in ear à gérer + la façade. Des retours playback seraient également utiles dans la console.
Je reste à l'affût des dernières évolutions au niveau des possibilités de l'ensemble bref l'apollo s'annonce déjà comme une petite révolution dans ma manière de faire

excellent interface which shows the great ability to play high deinicion audio, combined with the latest Pro Tools system, the converters are there Universal Audio ultimately are unique.

Great piece. Love it!
Love my new Apollo. Great converters, tons of power, basically no latency. Console is super simple to use and navigate (works like a physical console). Setup was a breeze.

Newer heard such clarity especially at the high end for my virtual instrument and backing tracks. Bravo to UAD this is now the center of my live performance rig and also location recording.

And what about the Windows drivers?
Bought it a few months ago, on the promise of windows drivers. Had to invest in an old MacPro to make it run (not well, bloqued on firewire 400).
Now where are the Windows drivers promised for this summer?

This was worth every penny and then some. I dare you not to want all the plug ins that are equally as satisfying. Makes me excited to turn it on every time.

Apollo Quad is king!!!
Fantastic piece of gear! Just stepped up to the Apollo Quad from an Apogee Duet and this has far exceeded my expectations. Sonic clarity is better than expected. Plus I was planning on just getting a few plug-ins but after hearing them I went all out and got a Satellite Omni Quad to go with it so I could have all the plug-ins in one fell swoop. Keep up the good work UA!!!

Quad brought me to the next level
I was running on MOTU cards before and was never able to achieve what I did in just the first day with the Apollo Quad. 2D vs 3D is an understatement. The depth of field, use of UAD plug Ins, and headroom have transformed my mixes over night. Thank you UA!

I am very happy the way Apollo sounds. I am working a lot with a band, SilverGrey Mind.
The sound is much better and the plug-ins are very good. Before i purchase Apollo i was using TC-electroniks. Apollo sounds smoother and crispier. Lots of air in the recorded sound.The only thing that could be better is the price tag of the plug-ins ;)

Stunning. I wasn't expecting the mic pres to be this good - I get all this processing power for some of the best plug-ins I've ever used and I get to record through them and four really, really good mic preamps. The proofs in the pudding. I sent some drum tracks I recorded the day after I starting using the Apollo to a client who called within minutes to ask why the cymbals sounded so much better.
Listen, even if you don't have any money lying around to buy all their great plug-ins right away, the box comes with the LA-2A and 1176 compressors and Pultec EQ. Not to mention the Real Verb Pro (a great reverb) and CS-1 channel strip (EQ, Compression, Mod Delay and Reverb). And you get four great mic preamps! Just buy it and thank me latter.

Purchased the Apollo Quad a couple weeks ago.
It amazes me everytime I use it, how clean it sounds, there isnt any colouring!!
The Plug In Collection thats included is powerfull for itself and could be easily sold for 500$ seperately.

Overall the unit is built solid. The dials feel great and its lay out is simple and ez to use. The Mic pres are "clean" but have character all their own, beautiful not steril. While A/D units are subjective, IMHO this unit rivals any system Ive used which includes alot. This unit is totally worth every cent even if you excluded the UAD plugins with native processing. UAD's plug ins speak volumes and their are plenty of pros backing their products. I would however like to see the plugins themselves become more affordable. This unit sets precedents and marks a new era in how we work. Im proud to be the owner of the Apollo UAD Duo. Great work UAD!! 4.5 stars!!!!!
