immaculate gear....
The Apollo is simply a totally pro audio interface that does exactly what it advertises. The sound quality is immaculate and the setup (thunderbolt) was extremely easy and intuitive.

Amazing
I love the Apollo. It is the best thing that could have happened to my studio setup. The console is excellent, the converters and preamps sound great, and the plugins are unreal!!

Clean, simple, does what it should
The Apollo Quad is a great and simple to use audio interface. Audio quality is clean, useability is great if you like your more analog/direct or traditional approach to your workflow. Latency is a little high and it still needs a matrix for routing and standalone mode, but apart from that if you're looking for a solid 8 channel interface that's cross platform and especially if you like the UAD plugins then it's a great deal.

It is best audio interface I have owned to date. Amazing sound, really nice preamps and DA conversion.

Apollo Quad - nice product
The Apollo has been a great improvement for me. Works very smoothly with the Mac OS and manages to handle all audio output functions for the other programs as well. The UA plug-in take a little homework to get used to, but the sound quality and the 'fine-tuning" aspect of the controls are worth the effort to learn about - at least so far that's my feeling about it. Rather than the new digital controls that offer more graphics than "audio" measures. In other words, the vintage plug-ins tend to force the use of "your ears" rather than a graphic image as a guide. Thats what I find with regard to the U.A. EQ's and compressors I've played with. I actually think it's a better practice.

Dreamteam
I got my Apoolo Quad with TB working from day one without any crash or drop out. First time ever to say something like that *g* Connected to it is a Dangerous Music D-Box - and - together it´s a beautiful and powerful team. I´m in love with the pre-amps. Mostly used with a Brauner Phanthera - fantastic. MINUS - I am one of those guys waiting for an update to maybe get more possibilities for the audio routing. My advise - save a little money and make a decision ;-)

Hi there,
It´s perfect under Mac.
It's A pity that there is no driver for Windows 8.
I´m not so happy about that.
Kind regards

worthy of its name.
this is one great unit...and that's coming from a guy who's had a few.
i'm coming from a pro tools hd system and wanted to have a more manageable system for my personal use and/or travelling as well as recording on location.
i'm used to being able to run plugins while recording without having to think about latency. now i still can.
i want an interface that sounds as good as it looks and i want to have great preamps on board, so i won't have to bring a lot of extra units - although a solo 610 always comes along.
my only complaint is that the thunderbolt card should have been included - the firewire option is simply not good enough.

Loving it so far
Got my Apollo Duo about a month ago. I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm setting up a mobile recording rig with it. The DA sounds as good as my previous interface from a well-regarded company that makes Mac-only products. The included plugins are great. I've really enjoyed mixing with it so far. I haven't been able to get out and try out all of the functions in a multitrack recording setting yet, but I'm sure I'll love it. With so many of UAD's new plugins being very power hungry, my only thing is I wish I had gotten the Quad instead. Once you start using their stuff, you won't be able to quit. The plugins are expensive, but trying a few of them out, I know I'll find it hard to resist buying some more.

Where did that come from?
I had been using a MOTU Traveler for about 8 years and was pretty happy with the sound quality. I upgraded to the Apollo because I wanted the additional features like realtime processing and UAD Plugins. When I plugged in the Apollo to do a sound comparison my mouth dropped. All this low end suddenly appeared in the room that I was missing from the Traveler. This is for me totally a game changer!

FANTASTIC

Incredible Sound
I am totally impressed by the quality of the converters, The low end is incredibly precise, even on headphones. And it doesn't blur the sound or hide/add any harmonics like some other high end converters i have used in the past. I listened to some of my old mixes and found mistakes that i would never have done with the apollo.
I bought the apollo mainly for location recordings with a 13" mac and the console doesn't fit the screen, this little problem doesn't even matter, i m blown away by the sound quality.

Love this interface....on a Mac
On my macbook pro, setup was a breeze. The preamps along are worth the price of admission. Add in the latency, A/D conversion, and UAD.....this device is just an incredible bang for your buck. Volume knobs unfortunately feel a little cheap, and the green light that gets brighter as you increase levels is a bit imprecise but obviously look really cool. Overall, I absolutely love it and find the Apollo to be one of the sonically speaking greatest recording purchases I've made in 15 years.
The only other complaint I have is the Win 7 drivers. I had pops and clicks on playback, not recording despite having a fast system, supported FW card and following all instructions. On my MacBook Pro though it runs like a champ!

I love my Apollo!
I've only been using my Apollo for about 2 weeks now and so far, so good! The converters are stellar, which is worth the price of admission alone, but once you factor in the UAD 2, the Console mixer and the incredible plug ins, well, it's officially a quantum leap into a professional workflow .Some notable faves: I love that the Mic Preamps are on the back and that there's no sharing with TRS inputs 1-8. Similarly, the monitor outs aren't shared by TRS outs 1-8. These are really nice touches. The plug ins are of such amazing quality! I've a/b'd some of these to their hardware counterparts and I'm blown away at how close they are to the "real" deal. Then, the Console mixer - a real godsend. If you're thinking about getting one - do it!

only real-time for Plugins
The apollo is a very sexy and well build interface with nice preamps and good and very good plug-Ins. UA are also very good in making mony and in marketing (499,-- Euro for that little pice of thunderbolt option card).
But what is realy worth: Apollo got lousy routing options. - Real time UAD Processing is only ment for their console, a tool that can be used without DAWs. But you cannot use anything realtime inside your DAWs and you cannot combine the real time plug-Ins with external hardware because of little routing options). A realy bad thing is that the support workers cannot tell you if or when this issue is going to be solved - unbelievable but true...
...But they call it a non compromising Soundcard :-))
A Satellite with Preamps..

Great Cornerstone for Any Project Studio
Great piece of gear - Does what they say, as advertised, easily and without a glitch. I bought this together with a 4710-d and an API 3124+ to give me a palette of everything from extremely clean mic pres to very colored ones, This set up gives me a 12 channel analog-to-digital studio in a 4U form factor! Plus I'm left with 4 line-in's to add another four mic pres! The digital processing and converters are pristine, and very easy to set up. Thanks UA for putting a piece of quality gear out there that works, and works well.
