I don't know how the original tape recorder sounded or the difference between this plugin and the real tape recorder, but definitely using this marvel my tracks sounds just the way I want and I don't need anything else.

As I expressed in my review of the Ampex ATR-102, should’ve bought it a long time ago!!!
Once again, as my title says, I “should’ve bought it a long time ago!!!”!!! Just like the Amoex ATR-102, it really sounds great and it provides enough settings/options to get many different tones out of it. Very natural if you want it that way and it also distorts nicely.

Late to the game
I didn't think that it would make such a difference. It doesn't work on all material, but when it works - man. I read someone writing that it gives this professional polish and that's true. It won't fix your mix, but it would make it sound more like finished record. It sounds great bot on master and on busses. Highly recommended.

Ampex ATR-102 Mastering Tape Recorder
This is a really cool plugin, I will add it to the master bus to glue the mix before mastering using different presets depending on the style of the track or song. I recommend this plugin to anyone who wants to achieve a professional sound.

The plugin that changed how I mix
To say I love this plugin would be an understatement. It’s the plugin that single handedly changed how I mix drums entirely. Focusing more using saturation instead of compression, this plugin can get you that massive led zeppelin drum sound. I always have it on my master fader as well, using it for mastering jobs, as well as simple saturation. It’s super simple to use, and very musical. I can honestly say it gets used on every session I do, generally multiple times!

Sometimes it does the trick
Sometimes it does the trick, but there is a big lack of versatility. I grab it when I need a quick and dirty temporary solution, but I end up replacing it by something else that has more tweaking capabilities. because I can't make it sit in the mix. That being said, It sounds real good at what it does!

Love this little plug-in really good for adding stuff quickly and not getting consumed by parameters but please I can only echo all the other comments to make it really useful and for money of us to upgrade to the full 10 machines I would request this feature please implement as soon as possible thank you so much. Great little idea.

Still learning how to use this device... looking for a way to bring out a bit of saturtion without changing the character of the kick and low end... the potential is there, need to keep exploring.

Turn it on and it sounds good out of the box
There must be some mojo to this one. It's somehow subtle and yet it improves the sound, so you miss it once its gone. I have more obvious tapes and distortion plugins, but this one becomes more and more my goto. Specially on acoustic guitars, which I use on almost every song. To me this plugin is very well done!
