Works on everything!!
I held out on the MK2 version for a long time. I finally demoed the LA2A Mk2 and was immediately impressed. Sounds beautiful on everything from bass, to vox, to guitar. Hoping to be able to grab the1176 MK2 soon! thanks for the great products UA!

Simply AMAZING!!
There is no way around being skeptical if upgrading your legacy plugins to MK2 is going to be worth it or not. The Fairchild bundle is simply worth every penny!! It instantly adds the character that I am looking for and being able to have multiple Fairchilds at hand is simply a NO BRAINER!!!!

Chili Pepper's Tone
I've been a fan of the Chili Peppers since I was a teen and this really gets the sound, esp. when paired with the Neve plug ins. Nice job. Probably not as good as the real deal, but it's also a lot cheaper, and you get three of them.

A great addition to your kit
This is great for gentle compression when tracking or for smoothing things out at the mixing stage. I also own the Fairchild which has a very different sound and its great to be able to switch between them or even chain them

This is one of my favorites! I have used it on the master fader for mixing ever since i purchased it. BUT a one rack version
would make this perfect!

Mojo!
Have only used the hardware on a couple of projects so can't really tell if it's spot on or not, but this thing has mojo! I usually only mix with hardware compressors on the mixbus, but this plugin is one of the few out there that sounds analogue and that deals with complex program material in a convincing way.

Hey,
got these during Christmas this year and the year could not have ended/started better. These wipe all other 1176 plug ins I have of the table. Super sound and really authentic. Only problem is now I need more DSP power :)

The LA-2A is legend. With this collection you get three variations that give you plenty of options in any session... This is a must own for anyone looking to add that classic comp sound to your mix.

One of my favorite Plugins!!!!!
This is one of my all time favorite plugins. I love the way it colors the tone on a drums buss or any channel you use it on. The dynamics are marvelous with this plugin.

Very Pleased
This was my first add-on bundle and I was simply blown away. I've never used a real LA-2A but I have been through a fair share of emulations. NOTHING sounds as good as this set of plugins. They are also minimal on DSP so you can throw them on multiple tracks without any worry. I am hooked, so glad I went with this system.

Awesome!
Everybody who buys an UAD-2 DSP card gets the legacy version of this plugin. I liked it from day one, especially on vocals and bass. I was tentative to go "all in" on the LA-2A collection because I was like, why would they make three different versions of probably the same plugin. First of all, ANY of these three badboys sounds clearly better, respectively more "lively" and three dimensional than the legacy one - which already sounds awesome. But there's also these subtle differences between "the old one" up to the silver edition. My fave is the grey one because is gentle, warm and gives you THE sound you expect from the LA-2A.

Super Real
I have a lot of nice compressors, but the 1176 collection is used the most. It's on multiple tracks on every mix - kick, snare, toms and bass. I was raised on tape, tubes and hardware, and this thrills me just as much!

Worth it!
I was holding off getting the LA-2A because I have a lot of stuff, but once I tried it properly I was hooked! Paired with an 1176 this might as well be called the "Good Button". Magical!

Great compression and color
I have never been in the same room as the hardware unit so I cannot comment on the veracity of the modeling of the original unit. I have a bedroom studio that I am on the cusp of being able to call a project studio as i track guitars and vocals there for other studios, and some other tracking for people.
The Fairchild is perfect for bringing vintage tube style compression and vibe to my tracks. I love it more for its color than its compression, but the compression is punchy and very musical. Perfect on drums or bass. Great for guitars too that are a bit pokey in the mix. Havent used it on vocals yet.
The side chaining and parallel options on the plugin makes it really versatile in modern productions.

Upgrading from an extensive use of the legacy Pultec plugin
As title states, I'm usual user of the old Pultec plugin. Sometimes just with all set to reset. Love the sound it provoques just passing through.
New one is obviously much better. Every control gives much more accuracy and sound is intense.
But still keeping the flavor.
Very happy with the purchase!

A compressor with character
Never been fortunate enough to use an original but what I can say, regardless of comparisons, is that this compressor adds a certain liveliness and colour, which was something missing from my arsenal. Very pleased with this plug-in!
