Loving it but….
Have owned the Universal Audio interface for nearly two weeks now and am really loving it. I like how my Logic Pro DAW automatically recognizes the unit. Had a little difficulty finding and understanding how to equip the plug ins but figured that out. Really like the Control software that comes with it, basically giving me an electronic mixer at my fingertips (something I both wanted and needed in my set up). I Started using my first plugin (UAD Galaxy Tape Echo) in a recording too. Check out You Tube link provided. Still so much to learn, practice and develop expertise on but I am going to have a lot of fun doing so.
The only thing I really don’t like right now is a few hardware mechanical issues.
1. The unit runs hot and while I get this because there are just a lot more moving parts in there than what I am use to from my old interface it does concern me that I have “hard cut off” the unit after each use vs. leaving it on as I am used to; which I researched and saw this recommendation to prolong the life of the unit. I just can’t help thinking that this hard on/off will also deteriorate the lifespan of the unitl.
2. The unit almost always never too perky recognizes my monitors when turning it on. I am forced to turn back off/on again (which I indicated above is a concerned) before it will recognize the monitors; and/or restart my computer altogether. This problem appears to be widely understood by owners and there are lots of troubleshooting videos on line…
