Frequently Asked Questions

USB Apollos are exclusively made for Windows PC users. Carefully consider the number and type of inputs and outputs you need, as well as how much real-time UAD-2 Apollo plug-in processing you think you might need. Thunderbolt Apollos work with macOS and Windows, provided you have a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 port.

You can connect one Apollo USB to a compatible Windows computer. If you have a Thunderbolt connection, you can combine up to four Thunderbolt Apollos, one of which can be a desktop Apollo such as the Twin X or x4.

This refers to the number of SHARC DSP processors in the Apollo. Onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with low-latency. A DUO core system has twice the amount of processing power compared to a SOLO core system.

Yes! You can have a maximum of two USB UAD-2 devices. Note that Satellites provide DSP to run UAD-2 plug-ins in your DAW, but do not provide additional realtime DSP for Apollo and UAD Console.

Thunderbolt Apollos cannot be combined with USB Apollos. You can combine Thunderbolt Satellites with USB Apollos or Satellites, up to a maximum of six UAD-2 devices. Please refer to help.uaudio.com for full specifications.
