Track with near-zero latency through preamp emulations from Neve,® API,® Manley® and more using Unison™ technology†
Unison Technology: The Genuine Sound of Neve, SSL, API & Manley Preamps
Apollo Twin features two Unison-enabled mic preamps, letting you track through exacting mic preamp emulations from Neve, SSL, API, Manley, and Universal Audio. An Apollo exclusive, Unison technology nails the tone of these sought-after tube and solid state mic pres — including their input impedance, gain stage “sweet spots,” and the component-level circuit behaviors of the original hardware.
The secret to Unison is its hardware-software integration between Apollo’s mic preamps and its onboard UAD-2 DUO Core DSP Acceleration. Simply place a Unison preamp plug-in on your mic input in Apollo Console software, and it physically reconfigures the Apollo interface's impedance — so you can tap into the classic sounds of the world’s most recorded mic preamps.
Watch the Unison Shoot Out (hardware vs. software) videoA Full Suite of Classic
Analog Processing OnboardRight out of the box, Apollo Twin USB provides a suite of incredible analog emulation plug-ins including the world’s only authentic Teletronix LA-2A, 1176LN, Pultec EQs, and the Unison-enabled UA 610-B Tube Preamp. Developed by UA’s world-renowned team of algorithm engineers, these Realtime Analog Classic plug-ins set the standard by which all other hardware emulation plug-ins are judged.
From the tube warmth of the Pultec EQ on guitars, to the gentle limiting of the LA-2A on vocals, your recordings will take a giant leap forward in rich, sonically complex analog sound.

Beyond the included Realtime Analog Classics plug-ins, Apollo Twin USB lets you tap into the full library award-winning UAD Powered Plug-Ins — including vintage EQs, Compressors, Reverbs, Tape Machines and more — at near-zero latency, regardless of your audio software’s buffer size and without taxing your computer’s CPU.
With exclusive emulations from Neve, Studer, Manley, API, Ampex, Lexicon, Fender, and more,† it’s like having an endless analog studio, right on your desktop. And unlike competing interfaces, these DSP-powered plug-ins are also available in your DAW for mixing.Next-Generation A/D and D/A Conversion
Of course, the heart of any audio interface is the quality of its conversion. In designing the next-generation Apollo range, UA engineers started with an obsessive auditioning of the latest A/D and D/A converters, ultimately pairing the selected 24-bit/192kHz converters with all-new analog circuitry for the optimal signal path. Apollo Twin provides increased dynamic range and lower THD versus other interfaces — rivaling dedicated converters costing thousands more.
Apollo: The Choice of New-School Professionals
Apollo is the confirmed choice of hit-making professionals, used to record landmark albums by Kendrick Lamar (DAMN.), Chris Stapleton (From A Room: Volume 1), Arcade Fire (Everything Now), Post Malone (Beerbongs & Bentleys), and many more. The Apollo range of interfaces has earned numerous industry awards from Sound on Sound, Future Music, and Electronic Musician — as well as the prestigious TEC Award for computer audio hardware five years running.

Apollo Twin USB

Terrible customer service process
The interface is good. Not the best. Nor is the AD/DA. The plugins are good but you are stuck with UDA devices to run them.
And please don’t ever need customer service. There process will make you feel like you back in stone age days and it will take you weeks to solve your issue, IF, They ever do…A. Nezhikov
ASIO driver not working properly
The quality of the preamps, plug-ins is amazing. Really great device, but the ASIO driver works disgustingly with different sampling frequencies!
As the problem was with PCI-e devices in 2012, so this disease is still going on. Sorry, but we are already living in 2024!
Why Audient audio card works fine with different sampling rates, but your card requires a tambourine dance?!h. bo

Only buy if your PC won't support Thunderbolt
The Apollo Twin USB only runs on Windows. I am a long-time Windows user, buying this Windows-only unit seemed like a no-brainer. I compose symphonic band and orchestral music. I hoped the DSP power of this (with an additional PCIe card) would offload enough of the signal processing from the i7 processor in my PC. The DSPs could barely handle the UAD plug-ins needed for the interface. It did not solve my problem. Later I discovered the DSP technology is about 20 years old.
I finally traded my PC for a Mac M1. The M1 is a game-changer. The 20-year-old DSP technology in this unit, not so much. I returned my Windows-only Apollo Twin USB Duo, sold the PCIe DUO card, and bought an M1 and Apollo x4 QUAD. Now I use the x4 QUAD to track my guitar, LC mic, and DLX microphone. The QUAD handles my DSP needs for the x4, and the impedance-matching Unison preamps are pure gold. The M1 handles all the DAW signal processing. Lastly, I was under the wrong impression that I needed the USB because I was running Windows. However, my i7 motherboard had a USB 3.2 interface built-in. I could have bought the Thunderbolt Twin. Before buying the Twin USB, make sure your PC truly has no path for Thunderbolt (USB 3.1 or better). Bottom line, I don't recommend the Apollo Twin USB.K. Chatzopoulos
Conclusion after 5 years
Windows/Cubase user here. I use this interface professionally, by recording maximum of 2 channels the same time (no multitrack, drums etc) and doing mix/masters. Before my upgrade I used a Motu audio express. I ve seen a big difference in stability and at rec quality. The unison recording is super smooth clear, and ready to be colored with character of plugins. The only Con I had, was with the DSP, BUT!!! After the native versions, I no longer have this problems and I spend some DSP for live monitoring. The idea for a step further that I did, without changing the card, was to buy an analog neve channel strip and a 8 extra channel ADAT, because I don't want to plug and unplug all the time for my various combinations of cabling.
In general, after the added experience , ear training and user experience as well, I am still super happy and satisfied from the sound, the quality of the UAD plugins, the UAD console experience etc. To be fair, recording with original neve channel strip, has a little better feel, presence and harmonics, BUT!, preamp emulations are not far in sound. Only in the real feel during recording.
Conclusion: If you are a windows user, don't be afraid! Go for it and it's the perfect period to invest to plugins , now that they are native as well.J. Raetz

It works well!
Works great into FL21. On windows having issues connecting signal from apollo to OBS studio etc. Would love to use it for streaming and not just music production. Doesn't seem to be any fixes online in forums or anything. Only consensus I've seen is that if you're using UA with window's you're simple S.O.L on that front.
