A High Quality Implementation
I've used LA-3A plugins for a long time, and have experience with emulations produced by multiple different companies. I typically use the LA-3A on drums for controlling tonality and punch. There is only one version provided, so it lacks the variations in character enabled by the different revisions in the UA 1176 Collection, and obviously the design does not have the controls of a 1176, so it is less flexible. However, compared to competitors' implementations, I've found the UA version of the LA-3A to be a bit cleaner and more tonally balanced. This is a high quality implementation.

terrible customer service, when you buy plugins they don't belong to you at all. If you buy multiple interfaces in particular, you cannot transfer any of the plugins with them unless you completely leave the uad system. the worst. the support is incredibly unfriendly too.

Wonderful tool for on vocals.
This has some cool sonic personality for sound design as well. Crush some ambient pads to bring out the sustain, mix it in parallel and make Dr. Eno blush for days.M. Calvagno

Lately this had been good limiter with mix knob. I’ve been useing other la-3a modeling plugin, but it lacked mix knob. I liked very much transparent sound of this plugin, altough I never have use a real hardware one. But this do job well

Firstly, this plugin could be said to give a good presence and character to the guitars, basses and even certain "Experiments" on drums, to give that quality by just moving 2 knobs, I think the plugin is on the right way.
Highly recommended.
